LG Washer Occasionally Going Off Balance

Problem: Unit occasionally fails to transition from rinse to spin cycle, and flashes the UE code on the user interface. Issue does not occur when unit is empty.


Diagnosis:

The unit may be perceiving that it is out of balance, whether or not it actually is. On a mechanical level, this could be caused by the unit not being level, or by the suspension rods/shocks being worn. Check that the tub, when at rest, does not tilt to one side or the other. The unit may be determining whether or not it is out of balance due to an algorithm on the main control board that monitors variances in current draw to the motor. These variances could be caused by the stator, hall sensor or the control board itself. Refer the service manual below...
