GE Washer Won't Spin With Large Load

Reference Model: GTW330ASK0WW

Washer will only spin with a small load. Large loads cause unit to display an off balance warning, then fill and agitate again until the same error occurs again, repeating indefinitely and leaving clothes wet.

Diagnosis:

A washer exhibiting symptoms of not spinning or occasionally not reaching full spin speed, resulting in wet clothes, may be repaired with a software update. See Service Bulletin Below

If your washer has a serial number HF to GL (May 2015 - April 2018), you may want to follow the steps below:

Upon entering fault code test 1 in service mode, technicians will find out of balance fault 26 has been set. Washers will spin normally in service mode test 14, but will not spin outside of service mode. (You need to enter the service mode, test# 1, following instructions in service manual).

Repair:

Order Software Update Module (SUM) WH98R23015001. Instructions to update software are included with the SUM. This update fixes a falsely detected out of balance conditions.
