These error code explanations can help you diagnose a problem with your GE CleanSpeak dryer.



Code Meaning Possible Cause Possible Parts
F01 or F03 Inlet thermistor (temperature sensor) is defective The inlet thermistor is on the inlet duct at the back of the dryer. Unplug the dryer and measure the inlet thermistor resistance using a volt/ohm meter. If the resistance isn't 47.6K to 52.4K ohms at 77 degrees F, replace the inlet thermistor Inlet thermistor
F02 or F04 Outlet thermistor shorted The outlet thermistor is on the blower housing at the front of the dryer. Unplug the dryer and measure the outlet thermistor resistance using a volt/ohm meter. If the resistance isn't 98K to 102K ohms at 77 degrees F, replace the outlet thermistor Outlet thermistor
F05 Control board internal failure Unplug the dryer and replace the control board Control board
F06 Stuck button Press all the buttons on the control panel to attempt to free the stuck key. If the key remains stuck, replace the control panel Control panel
F07 Power supply is miss-wired Unplug the dryer and properly wire the power cord according to the directions in the installation manual
F08 Door switch stuck closed The door is not seen being opened after 5 consecutive completed cycles. The control expects to see the door opened after each completed cycle. If the control sees the door closed for 5 consecutive cycles, the control assumes that the door switch is defective. Unplug the dryer and reconnect any loose wires on the door switch. Replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wires are okay, replace the door switch Door switch
F09 Long dry times Clean the lint filter. Clear the exhaust vent duct system of any clogs or restrictions. Unplug the dryer and reconnect any loose wires on the heating system. Replace any damaged heating system components Heating system components
F010 Empty drum The controls detect that a cycle started and the dryer drum is empty. The code clears when you add garments to the drum and start a new cycle
F011 Dry load The controls detect that a cycle started and the garments inside the drum are dry. The code clears when you add wet garments to the drum and start a new cycle
